Areas of Expertise
For some devices/technologies FDA and especially others require demonstration that the intervention does what is intended. In digital health it is typically the case that traditional methods of evidence are neither appropriate nor efficient. I have deep experience in developing new designs that demonstrate evidence.
Value and design
Even when there is evidence that an intervention is effective if used, there usually needs to be demonstration that it will be used and that there are likely exit strategies. I am expert at both evaluating interventions and designing ways to demonstrate value.
I have many years of experience in knowing philanthropic funders, understanding their motivations and the development of successful funding applications. This is true for foundations, patient groups and venture philanthropy.
My experience with Dr. Shar was great. He provided me with invaluable feedback and offered direction that I can't wait to follow up on. He was very sensitive to the time he was taking and made sure to be as on point as possible. I would definitely recommend.
DMI've worked with Al Shar over many years as a colleague both at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Al is a brilliant strategist, thoughtful and careful steward of both human and financial resources and an expert in all things technological. At RWJF, we simply could not have achieved our communications success without his wise counsel and collaborative and non-territorial approach to problem-solving. Perhaps most importantly, he is a delightful colleague and all-around great guy, the kind any organization needs.
LEI have known Al for several years, and have been impressed by his professional approach. Al maintains a strong balance of business acumen and technology expertise. I have found his counsel very useful, and his knowledge of the technology industry is very thorough. I have enjoyed working with Al, and look forward to working with him again in the future.
CHAl Shar is a very insightful collaborator with insights in multiple domains. It is a pleasure working with him. He has helped our organization reach beyond our experience set to enable the delivery of very important contributions to consumer self-care.
JHNot only has Dr. Shar been great to work for as a vendor, he has become a good friend and mentor.
