Bart was responsible for end-to-end engineering for SMIT's Windows Azure-based Social Experience Platform. This included MSURL short ULR redirector (, MSFEEDS a highly scalable feed aggregation and content curation service, and a comments and rating service. These services are the backbone for numerous customer-facing marketing services. Bart is an outstanding Enterprise Architect and Software Engineer. He is focused on extreme scale and reliability in his designs. He has an outstanding reputation for being able to work in a collaborative manner across the company. During his one year working in my team he added outsourced off-shore vendor management to his skills. He managed an engineering team in Beijing, China from his home office in Austin, TX. He was able to overcome language and skillset issue during the year and continued to deliver high quality features in SXP throughout the year. A great example of this delivery was the work he and his vendor team did in supporting the next generation infrastructure redesign for the Microsoft News Center website.
