Dan Roberts

Currently: Austin, TX. Previously: RTP, NC.

I co-founded a manufacturer/distributor of medical research supplies. Although it didn't take off as hoped, I gained invaluable first-hand experience. I was general counsel to a preeminent early stage Healthcare/Biotech/Med Device VC firm, participating in weekly discussions re: investment decisions and company analysis for companies spanning the gamut of the healthcare/life sciences arena. I've also represented, as corporate counsel, many early stage companies in essentially every specialized area of the healthcare industry.

Areas of Expertise

  • Experience with VCs

I've represented both investors and companies in venture financings, totaling over $200M in the aggregate, and have seen over 100 term sheets. I know how VCs think when it comes to valuation (having years of experience as the general counsel to a prominent biotech VC firm). I've given international presentations on IP valuation and have come to understand how VCs evaluate healthcare companies.
