    Video Quality • Developed and automated DSP algorithms to validate the quality of video and define the types of distortions present in the Video by using Objective Quality Estimation (PSNR, VQM, and SSIM) • Calculates the quality of video per frame (comparing the structural, Luminance and Chrominance component of video with Reference video) and also for the whole video and traces the bad frames. • This development is actively used to validate Video Quality across all QuickTime releases and is adopted by outside teams like iTunes. This development was done single handed right from the idea till deployment. Color Correction • Responsible for Color Correction and analysis schemes for QuickTime and all upcoming hardware configurations. • Automated the process of color analysis for easy error detection through out the releases by reading out the RGB values through the screen and comparing through various test patters (rec 709, rec 601 ). New Mac Product Line • Profiled Mac Air and new MacBook Pro (GPU,Video)performance and Quality • Worked on the performance and quality decisions made on proto from prototype to release stage. • Responsible for Color and Video Quality estimations on all upcoming Mac hardwares. • Good amount of experience in Hardware decode power management Video Application • Working in QuickTime code base used in all other applications like iphoto,iMovie, iDVD and Final Cut Pro. Includes debugging code base for problem in applications using QuickTime code base for creating Visual Context. • Developed Video Codec (H.264 and Mpeg) for QuickTime player running on different hardware platforms • Leading and Cross functionally working with Graphics Team, Mac Mini Team and Power Management Team for new Product definition and development. • Created an iPhone Application to monitor the health of chronic disease by automatically updating the health chart with the help of images and graphs using OpenGL.

    Worked on the research project sponsored by Media Lab Asia, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. “Making Indian Legacy Documents Accessible via Web” Since reliable optical character recognition (OCR) is not available for scripts of Indian languages, text part of the document need to be shown as images. To overcome the bandwidth limitation and making scanned documents images available on small screens such as PDAs and Mobile Phones, new transcoding scheme was developed.
