Areas of Expertise
AgaMatrix developed the first hardware medical device (a glucose meter) to connect to the iOS ecosystem. We also invented new electrochemical methods and algorithms to create high accuracy products that are sold in various retail pharmacies (CVS, Target, Kroger's, etc) and via pharma partners (Sanofi).
Misfit is a leader in wearable tech, combining elegant design, wearability, and data science to create health and wellness products that people will actually want to wear and use. The field is still very young and the possibilities are virtually endless.
Having gotten FDA clearance and a CE Mark in 2010/11 for the world's first hardware medical device to connect to an iPhone taught us a lot. The FDA has progressed tremendously since then in their view of mobile health products, but the path is still less than clear at times. Applying the proper risk-based approach can be one of the best ways to navigate through the regulatory world.
