Areas of Expertise
Medical Device Design and Development
I have worked on hundreds of design projects for nearly every major medical device company in the world through my experience with Merit Medical's OEM division.
OEM & Hospital Sales
I have been both a salesperson in the hospital, as well as OEM sales to other medical device companies. I have also lead a worldwide salesforce working with other Medical Device companies around the globe.
Executive Leadership in finance and contracts
As VP of Global OEM, I was responsible for managing my own division. I also had extensive experience negotiating broad contracts for licensing and manufacturing. Lastly, as part of our sales efforts, I often had to put together financial models for the development of medical devices.
NFThere are few leaders that can get to know their employees on a personal level and yet continue to be a leader in a business setting like Steven. His knowledge of the medical industry along with Merits core products, gave him the ability to sit face to face with the decision makers on million dollar deals and convince them of their need for Merits products. I appreciate the drive and motivation I recieved from Steven in both my personal life and my career.
KKNew and veteran sales reps at Merit were lucky to have Steven as a mentor. His deep understanding of the medical device business helped colleagues, customers, and prospective customers understand Merit's products and navigate the sometimes complicated OEM manufacturing process. Steven is a born salesman, quick on his feet, and will continue to accomplish great things in any sales or business leadership position.
JWSteven Labrum is an experienced and accomplished executive. I reported directly to Steven and was impressed by his ability to breakdown internal and external barriers in a complex business environment. He inspires the best in his employees by allowing them enough autonomy to utilize their talents, while giving targeting goals, constructive feedback, and accountability. With a proven ability to build a highly productive and cohesive team and a sound understanding of how to promote and grow a division, Steven would be a valuable asset to any executive management team.
JLSteve has proven himself as a results-oriented, determined, and customer centric leader. From M&A integration to sales leadership, he has gained the respect of industry and colleagues as a multi-disciplinary, driven professional in the OEM medical device sector.
